Hey guys!! I hope you have had a chance to share some photos with your family members. If you haven’t posted a photo of a favorite space to share with your family, try to make it happen and let me know how it goes.
Focusing on home as part of spiritual well-being made me look for this video of "Home Sweet Home" by Motley Crue!
It’s an old song, but I love listening to it. Believe it or not, hearing it takes me back to my home in China. :) To everyone traveling home this weekend to be with your families, have a safe and wonderful time away. And appreciate the time you have with your loved ones. Give thanks in all things, no matter how great or small. Enjoy!
After I read this I posted some pictures on Facebook of my last time spent at home over winter break. These pictures were taking at my mothers house, a place that I haven't stayed at in 3 years because I have been staying with my father. So when I went home I spent my time there even though it was only for a week it would be considered the most memorable week. I say this because this house hold so many memories, its the house where all three of my nephews grew up. It was also apparently the last time I would be at that house, when I got back to campus or Kent I was told that my family moved out of that house and I was hurt. So when I put the pictures up on Facebook, my one sister that I have a very close relationship with liked all the pictures, I'm sure she had a big smile on her face and she also left a few comments on them one being "I miss you sister" and it was a very touching moment for me. This is a big deal for me because I don't have very much family support like most first year college students have and this is very hard on me. So when I have communication or any connection with my family, it really touches my heart and builds my spirit. So doing this sharing photos, with family and getting feed back is a big deal to me and very touching to my heart.
ReplyDeleteI am happy you enjoy the ritual I provided. Enjoy!
DeleteI was actually back home once I read this post. At that time I decided to go through some old pictures of when I was a little kid and saw our old house that we used to live in. This started to make me think of all the old memories and old friends that I had back in the day. This also made me realize how much life has changed sense then and how much I have changed. I posted a picture of my old house and also a picture of me with my brother and sister. Both of these pictures brought memories back for both of my siblings too. This allowed us to talk about those memories and made us all smile, but really it was just nice to talk about it and think back in time for a little bit.
